Study on the Ketoprofen Release from Control-released Tablets Made from Poly(acrylamide-acrylacide) and Guar Gum

2009
Aim To study the property of ketoprofen(KP) release from control-released tablets made from a pH-sensitive polymer of poly(acrylamide-acrylacide) and guar gum (GPAA). Methods The effect of water-soluble additive, iron strength and pH of the medium, the content of GPAA and the consistence of GPAA on the KP release was studied. Results The cumulative release of KP during 12h in PBS with pH6.8 was more than 90%,but was less than 10% in HCl with 0.1mol·L-1 during 2h. With the increase of iron strength and GPAA content, the KP release rate declined. With the increase of water-soluble additive (lactose),the drug release rate improved. With the content of AAc in the polyer increased from 50% to70%,the difference in drug accumulate release was obvious in PBS with pH6.8,but was slight in 0.1mol·L-1.Conclusion The control-released tablet made from GPAA has obvious pH sensitivity.
