Electrical design of an MCM for a 2.5 Gbps network switch

The electrical design of the MCM for a high performance network switch is presented. Electrical simulations are presented for signal crosstalk, propagation on meshed ground planes and ground bounce. The noise margins for the various signal nets on the MCM are defined. These noise margins provide a quantitative bound against which the different packaging noise sources are compared for the baseline MCM design.
