Drug-induced airway diseases

2004
Drug-induced airway disease can manifest as bronchoconstriction, which also can be a feature of a drug-induced anaphylactic reaction, cough, or obliterative bronchiolitis. Some symptoms are trivial (eg, cough induced by angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors), whereas others are life-threatening (eg, drug-induced anaphylaxis). With new drugs being added to the therapeutic armamentarium, a close watch is essential to identify drug-induced adverse reactions to prevent and to develop a management strategy.
