Formaldehyde Biosensors in Foodstuffs Applying Nano Gold Entrapped in p-HEMA Deposited on Screen-Printed Carbon Electrodes: A Short Review

2019
Abstract This chapter reveals the role of the biosensor method for formaldehyde detection as the target element in any media, including aqueous solutions, air/gas phases, and food, with respect to various recognition elements/molecules, doping elements, and types of transduction methods in relation to reports of previous investigations. Reports on the chemical sensor and common analytical methods for formaldehyde determination are described. The sensor response in terms of sensitivity, linearity, and stability is also discussed. The application of nano gold particles and alcohol oxidase immobilized in a p-HEMA membrane attached to screen-printed carbon working electrodes is also highlighted in this chapter.
