Extirpacao cirurgica dos abscessos da linfadenite caseosa em caprinos
2000
Thirty female, adult, crossbred goats of the breeds Alpina and Toggenbourg, with age between 1 to 4 years and living in confinement, were submitted to the surgical removal of lymphonode affected by caseous lymphadenitis, before it came to drain, aiming at solely the control of the ambient contamination. The surgery was taken to term with success in 24 cases (80%). Four cases (13%) of extravasation of the content of the abscess had occurred during the surgery and death of an animal due to accident anaesthetic. There was postoperative complication with the opening of the tissue around the stitches of an animal. Surgery should be recommended when there are few animals affected in a herd and where the abcesses are in the right stage of development.
