antibodies.6 For the most part, the manifestations and management of reactions related to the use of monoclonal antibodies are similar to those occurring during anaphylactic reactions. Interestingly, there is no difference between the clinical manifestations of these anaphylaxis and anaphylactoid reactions—they both may involve the cutaneous, respiratory, gastrointestinal (GI), or cardiovascular systems. The management of both types of reactions is the same; in addition, the two terms often are used interchangeably in the literature to describe severe infusion-related reactions.
