The utility model discloses an energy-saving elevator, comprising an elevator framework, a drag chain assembly and steps, which is characterized in that the elevator framework is composed of an ascending elevator framework, a stand platform and a descending elevator framework; a step guide rail is fixedly disposed in the elevator framework; the drag chain assembly is slidably matched with the step guide rail; a first drive motor and a drive wheel are fixedly installed in the lower end of the ascending elevator framework; the first drive motor is connected with the drive wheel via a speed reduction device; a transmission wheel is disposed in the lower end of the descending elevator framework; the both ends of the drag chain assembly are matched with the drive wheel and the transmission wheel respectively; and the steps are fixedly installed on the drag chain assembly. The energy-saving elevator has the advantage that ascending people are driven by the pull force on the drag chain assembly acted by the gravities of descending people when the elevator is operated. Compared with the total output power of a power device in a traditional ascending and descending elevator, the total output power of the power device is reduced in the energy-saving elevator, so that an energy-saving purpose is realized.
