Applying data mining to investigate business continuity in petrochemical companies

ABSTRACTThis article focuses on business continuity (BC) in Iran petrochemical industry. It attempts to investigate the industry environment with regard to risk factors, experienced disruptions, effectiveness of conducted countermeasures, and the extent of BC management implementation. In addition, by surveying relevant attributes among petrochemical companies, data mining techniques are used to analyze the empirical data and discover useful knowledge and relationships among these attributes based on the cross-industry standard process for DM methodology. Extracted association rules and patterns can be helpful in gaining more insight into BC in petrochemical industry and in promoting it.
