A single-pulse shock-tube study of the reactionbetween nitrous oxide and carbon monoxide

1973
The bimolecular reaction between N 2 O and CO in the temperature range 1169°–1655°Khas been studied in a single-pulse shock tube. For the reaction N 2 O + C O → k 1 N 2 + C O 2 , ( 1 ) an Arrhenius frequency factor and an activation energy of 10 11.32±0.36 cc/mole-sec and 17,300±2300 cal/mole, respectively, have been reported for k 1 . The reactions between N 2 O and O atoms given by N 2 O + O → k 4 N O + N O ( 4 ) N 2 O + O → k 5 N 2 + O 2 ( 5 ) have also been studied and an average ratio of k 4 / k 5 =0.317±0.27, over the temperature range 1216°–1655°K, has been obtained.
