New generation of diagnostic systems for nuclear power plants

1993
For more than 15 years, Siemans has has manufactured systems for monitoring the integrety of the primary system and for the diagnosis of nuclear power plant components. These systems record the vibrational behavior of reactors and reactor internals and of the principal components of the primary systems, indicate the presence of loose parts, detect and locate leaks, and evaluate the fatigue of components as a result of thermal stresses. These systems have been constantly up-dated to produce a new generation of automatic PC-controlled devices. This report presents an overview of the Siemans monitoring systems.
