Current Status of Cardiac CT in Adult Congenital Heart Disease

2020
Synopsis Early diagnosis of congenital heart disease (CHD) and improvements in treatment and management have led to a growing population of adult patients living with CHD. The radiologist is frequently called upon to evaluate patients with known repaired CHD. This section focuses on the role that CT serves in evaluating patients with known and undiagnosed CHD with an emphasis on the more commonly encountered diseases. An understanding of the commonly encountered diseases, their expected post-surgical appearance, and commonly encountered mimickers allows for the radiologist to make an accurate diagnosis and direct potentially life saving care.
