New facts about adsorption on PtO/sub 2/ and RuO/sub 2/

1986
This paper studies the effect of anodic polarization in centrimolar dimethyl sulfoxide solution of CsNO/sub 3/ and Na/sub 3/PO/sub 4/ containing 0.1 mass % H/sub 2/O. With increasing anode potential, the adsorption of Cs/sup +/ decreased, and that of PO /SUP 3/4-/ increased because of a change of the oxide charge. The effect of temperature was studied on the adsorption of Cs/sup +/ and PO /SUP 3/4-/ in the range of 10-75 C in aqueous and dimethyl sulfoxide solutions (20-75 C). It was determined that the adsorption decreased with increasing electrolyte temperature. The adsorption was reversible with respect to temperature in a dimethyl sulfoxide solution.
