Selective oxidative coupling of methane with membrane reactor
1994
Oxidative coupling of methane was conducted with membrane reactor. The non-porous PbO film modified by alkaline compounds was supported on porous SiO2-Al2O3 tube. Kinetic analysis was conducted to clarify the oxide ion transportation through PbO film. The results indicated the validity of the reaction model that consists of surface reactions of methane with oxide ion which is transferred from inside to outside of the membrane reactor. Another membrane reactor consisting of mixed conductor showed higher activity compared with PbO membrane. The result suggests a way to realize a more excellent membrane reactor.
