The Research of Wheel-flange Measurement System Based on Optical Triangulation

Based on optical triangulation measurement principle,the dynamic of wheel-flange Measurement system was presented.Which will improve the precision of measurement system and the steady and reliable of operating of system.Data collection module of the system is composed of charge-coupled devices cameras and Structured light transmitter.The calculation mode and measure mode are induced from optical triangulation measurement principle.the width and height were measured by the definition of the flange height and width In the calculation model,with which the wheel flange wear was quantified.the system was proved to satisfy requirement of railway department through debuggerand detection,with the precision being less than 0.3 mm.
