Traps for Popillia japonica Newman containing joint lures consisting of either phenethyl propionate (PEP) + eugenol, 7:3, + Japonilure or PEP + eugenol + geraniol, 3:7:3, + Japonilure were most attractive when exposed 28 to 56 cm above ground. Traps containing only PEP + eugenol + geraniol, 3:7:3, however, were most attractive to Japanese beetles at 56 to 84 cm.
