Oxygen Reduction reaction on heteroatom-doped electrocatalysts in for proton exchange membrane fuel cells

2011
Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells PEMFCs are new energy conversion devices that produce electricity from a supply of fuel, such as hydrogen. One of the major barriers in achieving efficient energy conversion is limited resources and high cost arising from the noble metal Pt of the Pt-based catalysts. Here, we present the results of the nitrogen-doped carbon-based non-platinum catalysts exhibiting attractive catalytic activity and stability for PEMFCs.
