RECUPERACIîN DE PATRIMONIO INDUSTRIAL EN EL MUNICIPIO DE MIERES, ASTURIAS Learning centre for the Loredo Mining Railway and its trackbed between La Pereda and Pe-amiel. Recovering the industrial heritage in Mieres council, Asturias

The growing interest on industrial heritage has been focused in Asturias on mining legacy, going forward on recovering and pointing out important items over the last decade. We are going to show a research and educational initiative of Mieres Council made by our company Pozu Espinos. Consultor’a y Gesti—n Cultural over the last three years on the narrow gauge trackbed and station belonging to the system of the Riosa mines. The origin of these collieries goes back to the 1840Os until the present day, through different hands, and the mines comprise part of Riosa (the main, which has given the name), Morc’n and Mieres councils, where auxiliary equipments were established and were heritage has been recovered. We will show the working method, the successive phases of work and the exposition resources in order to share them with other professionals. Our aim is to publish this work and attract visitors to a zone plenty of geological, environmental, mining and cultural values.
