Monoclonal antibodies against claudin-18 for cancer treatment
2006
Monoclonal antibody that has the ability to bind to claudin 18A2 (CLD18A2) and can be obtained by a method comprising the step of immunizing an animal with a peptide having the amino acid sequence SEQ ID No. 16 or a nucleic acid or a host cell that expresses said peptide, in which the antibody has the ability to mediate the elimination of tumor cells expressing CLD18A2 in vivo, said elimination being induced by the binding of said antibody to CLD18A2 expressed by said cells, and in which the antibody mediates in the elimination of cells expressing CLD18A2 by inducing lysis mediated by complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) and / or lysis mediated by antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity (ADCC).
