Estudo comparativo entre xenoenxerto (pele da tilápia-do-nilo) e hidrofibra com prata no tratamento das queimaduras de II grau em adultos

2018
The goal of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) skin as an occlusive biological dressing in the management / treatment of 2nd degree burns in adults. Clinical study with 30 patients randomly treated with Nile Tilapia skin (n = 15), and Aquacel Ag® silver hydrofibra (n=15). In relation to duration, the skin treatment of Nile Tilapia obtained an average of days of treatment (9.6±2.4) smaller than the comparative material (10.7±4.5). Concerning the report of pain during dressing change, both groups presented pain greater than the score 5 of the visual analogue scale. After dressing replacement, 86.7% of Nile Tilapia skin treated patients reported a decrease in pain. It was also found that 60% of patients treated with Nile Tilapia skin did not have their dressings replaced at any time of treatment. For the AquacelAG® dressing, 53.3% of the patients had more than one dressing replacement. However, for all evaluated outcomes, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups. Thus, based on the research, it can be concluded that the skin of Nile Tilapia is effective as a biological occlusive dressing.
