Transport properties of Ba1−xKxBiO3 single crystals
1993
We measured resistivity and Hall effect on Ba1−xKxBiO3 single crystals (0.35<×<0.4) grown by two different methods, flux and electrochemical synthesis. Resistivity (ϱ) shows metallic temperature (T) dependence. The ϱ-vs-T behaviour is not simply linear, it rather fits well curve predicted by Bloch-Gruneisen theory consistently with electron-phonon scattering. The Hall coefficient RH is negative and above ∼100K its magnitude slightly decreases as temperature increases. In the most metallic of our samples we found RH(270K) = -1.22×10-9m3C, a value that is quite close to that predicted by Hamada et al. by electronic band calculations.
