Land Use Change and Its Causes in Counties in Karst Region: A case study on Qianxi County of Guizhou

In order to study the land use change situation in counties in karst area and analysis the causes of land use change,by using data of land use and social economy in Qianxi County from 2001 to 2010,the land use change was studied based on such models as dynamic degree model and change of land use degree model.The results showed that the land use change was relatively obvious during the ten years in Qianxi.The cultivated land,forest land,land for residential areas and mining,water and water conservancy facilities,land and unused land were especially the most prominent.The causes for land use change were as follows: policy,population change,the development of urban,the development of related project and others.
