Microwave Preheating of Iron Ore Pellet Containing New Organic Binder

Microwave technology is used to solve the problem of low preheating pellet strength for using organic binder D,and the strength of preheating pellets by microwave is compared with that of using tube furnace preheating.The preheating pellet strength is 448 N when the preheating temperature is 750 ℃ for using microwave technique;however the preheating pellet strength is 129 N at 750 ℃ for using tube furnace.The mechanism of microwave preheated pellets are analyzed by the optical microscope and SEM observations and the result shows that majority magnetite is oxidized and hematite is formed which is connected with each other in the microwave preheated pellet,and the strength of preheating pellets is improved.
