Impact of Urban Environment on Households' Carbon Emissions from Direct Energy Consumption in China

Households' carbon emissions from direct energy consumption make great contribute to the city's carbon emissions.Total 262 prefectural-level cities were set as samples.The impact of city's natural and humanistic environment conditions on households' carbon emissions from direct energy consumption were analyzed by using panel data model.Empirical results indicate that effects of economic factors are the greatest.Climate conditions determine the energy quantity demanded for heating and cooling.Urban built-up area makes a positive impact on households' traffic carbon emissions.Energy consumption structure adjusts households' carbon emission to a certain degree.Regarding to the implication of policy,the government should adjust the energy supply structure,control Urban built-up area,promote the use of low carbon technology products,which can reduce urban households' direct carbon emissions.
