Immunity and the prostaglandin level in gastritis B

1992
: The indices of systemic and local immunity, level of prostaglandins, presence of Helicobacter pylori in the gastric mucosa was studied in 53 patients with gastritis B. Patients with superficial antral gastritis showed independent of the presence of Helicobacter pylori in the gastric mucosa changes of the systemic immunity and level of PGE2 and PGF1 that were abnormal. In atrophy of the antral gastric mucosa and presence there of H. pylori one observed a reduction of the number of T-lymphocytes and proliferative activity. Suppression of the system of prostaglandins in the blood and gastric mucosa, the toxic effect of H. pylori results in autosensibilization, increase of IgA and IgG finally leading to development of erosions in the gastric antrum.
