Evaluation Framework for Demand-Response Solutions in Blocks of Buildings

2019
Demand Response (DR) has a recognized value for electricity consumers, national energy networks and the environment. However, most DR implementations aimed at small or medium scale customers have failed to meet the expected potential. To fill this gap, the EU H2020 project DR-BOB aims to demonstrate the economic and environmental benefits of demand response in blocks of buildings for the actors required to bring it to market. This paper introduces the evaluation framework developed as part of the project with regards to the ICT architecture, evaluation process and key performance indicators. It describes the DR scenarios implemented in one of the four pilot sites (Anglet, France), and presents the first results after one year of experimentation.
