Detection of heat stress protein 70 in peripheral blood lymphocytes by flow cytometry

2001
Objective To establish a simple, rapid and r eliable method for evaluating heat stress protein 70(HSP70) in peripheral blood lymphocytes. Methods Flow cytometry and Western blot were used in this study. Results HSP70 in lymphocytes increas ed rapidly after heat stress at 43 ℃ for 30 min,and the peak value of HSP70 app eared at 6 h.Then the level decayed.Similar results of both flow cytometry and W estern blot showed a high coincidence of the two methods.Flow cytometry, however, was more simple, rapid, reliable and suitable for study of large samples. Conclusions Flow cytometry is an accessible method with large-sc ale applicability to detect HSP70 in peripheral blood lymphocytes.
