Hyphenspezifische factors of Candida albicans

Nucleotide sequence which is suitable for the cloning and expression of a gene which encodes an expressed exclusively in the hyphally growing form of Candida albicans protein without significant homologies with proteins of related fungi, and as a means for detecting candidiasis, and for the development of drugs to fight candidiasis is selected from the group consisting of: (A) a nucleotide sequence defined in SEQ ID Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12, a complementary strand or part thereof, (B) a nucleotide sequence encoding the amino acid sequence defined in SEQ ID NO. 5, 6, 7 and 8, a complementary strand or part thereof and (C) a nucleotide sequence which hybridizes with one of the nucleotide sequences of said (a) or (b).
