Tokat İli Merkez İlçede Arıcılık Faaliyetinin Ekonomik Analizi ve İşletmecilik Sorunları

This study covers economic analysis of beekeeping (apiculture) farms in the Central District of Tokat Province. In addition, current situation of farms and problems they have faced were determined. Data were collected from 72 apiculture farms by direct personal interview. The Method of Stratified Random Sampling was used in the determination of sample size. Farms were divided into three size groups as having less than 20 beehives (first group), between 20 and 49 beehives (second group), and 50 and more beehives (third group). Gross margin, net profit, farm income and total family income were determined as TL 17 623,85 million ($ 10 686,52), TL 6 741,03 million ($ 4 087,54), TL 9 330,13 million ($ 5 657,48) and TL 12 824, 92 million ($ 7 776,60), respectively. In addition, cost of production of 1 kg honey were determined as TL 3,09 million ($ 1,87). It was determined that beekeepers have faced some problems in production, marketing, disease and pest management, etc. It can be said that beekeeping is an activity increasing the income of farms in the Central District of Tokat Province.
