An Efficient Handover Management Technique For Improving QoS in Next Generation Networks.

2019
Long-term evolution (LTE) networks support multimedia traffic and provide high data rate and low latency. Evolved Node B (eNB) is a part of LTE network that provides resources to User Equipment (UE). In LTE uplink, Single-Carrier frequency-division multiple access (SC-FDMA) technique is used to schedule the resource blocks for the data transmission. When UEs are mobile, the signal control is transferred from one eNB to target eNB. This handover management process must be done optimally so that network efficiency can be improved. This paper investigates the handover process in LTE network for uplink traffic. A novel approach based on Fuzzy-AHP and Jaya method is proposed for handover optimization. Fuzzy-AHP method selects the target eNB based on certain criteria like RSS, velocity, cell radius, the load on eNB, dwell time and power transmission and then Jaya algorithm is used to allocate the resources to UE. The performance of the proposed method is compared with the state of art method in a mixed traffic environment. The results show that the selected eNB can efficiently preserves the QoS of the network and hence can be optimally increase network performance.
