Solving the NEV test case using the current injection full-newton power flow

2008
The Distribution Systems Analysis Sub-Committee has been organizing Test Cases to provide benchmarks and challenging real cases for power systems analyses programs. The main focus of this test case is to calculate neutral to earth voltages - thus the acronym NEV Test Case - arising from unbalanced operation of transmission lines having neutral conductors, as well as on neutrals of devices and loads that may be grounded through impedances. Induced voltages in cables other than the power conductors, such as telecommunications cables, are also examined. This paper presents a summary of the results obtained with the application of the N-Phase Current Injection Method to solve the NEV Test Case.
