An autoradiographic investigation of tritium in 304 stainless steel
1971
Abstract Autoradiographic techniques based on the use of either liquid emulsions or stripping films are discussed in detail. Autoradiography was used to investigate the concentration and distribution of tritium in 304 stainless steel under various conditions. Partitioning of tritium between the phases present in the microstructure and between the regions of low and high defect concentration in cold-worked stainless steel was detected. In addition, the use of autoradiography as a means of making quantitative determinations of the tritium concentration is demonstrated.
