Urban green areas play important roles in the environmental quality of cities, such as microclimate stabilization, heat islands reduction, air and sound pollution reduction, among other functions. The aim of this study was to develop a quantitative afforestation analysis of the public roads of the neighborhoods and downtown area of the city of Altonia – PR, and provide elements for the planning and application of mitigation measures for the afforestation plan of the city.
