Equilibrium polytransetherification in the presence of an inorganic filler catalyst

The kinetics of a model reaction of the methyl benzoate transetherification by 1-heptanol and the laws of dimethyl terephthalate polytransetherification by 1,4-butanediol were studied and the effects of a disperse mica of the phlogopite type and a method of the chemical and physical modification of the mica surface on these reactions were determined. The mechanical properties of the polycondensation-filled compositions were compared to those of the materials obtained by mechanical mixing of the same components in the melt.
