The invention provides a fog-surface flame-retardant polyvinyl chloride wire cable material and a preparation method thereof. The wire cable material mainly comprises the following components in part by weight: 50 to 100 parts of polyvinyl chloride, 40 to 65 parts of calcium carbonate, 40 to 90 parts of plasticizer, 4 to 10 parts of fog-surface agent, 10 to 30 parts of compound aluminum hydroxide, 1 to 5 parts of antimony trioxide, 1.0 to 2.0 parts of nitrogen-phosphorus compound flame retardant, 3 to 7 parts of stabilizer and 0.5 to 150 parts of processing aid. The fog-surface flame-retardant polyvinyl chloride wire cable material is prepared through granulation by twin-screw extruders.
