Spatial distribution of blue electroluminescence in ZnSe mis diodes

Abstract Blue electroluminescence (EL) in ZnSe MIS diodes using ZnS polycrystal film as an insulating layer appears as a few scattered bright spots. The origin of these electroluminescent spots (ELS) could be attributed to the introduction of insulating ZnS layer. The homogeneity of blue EL has been improved when a ZnSe polycrystal film instead of a ZnS polycrystal film was used as an insulating layer in ZnSe MIS diodes.
