Pharmacological screening of Ochna obtusata

The alcoholic extract of 0. obtusata bark (O.E.) was screened for its biological activities in experimental animals. The s.c. LD 5O was found to be 1.5 g/kg in mice. The results of the study indicated a potent analgesic effect in mice. Significant anti-inflammatory effect was observed in rats. These findings support the traditional use of this plant against pain and inflammation.
