Variable time synchronous detection method for sensitive optical detection

2003
A variable-time synchronous detection (VTSD) method for sensitive optical detection is proposed. It is based on a voltage/time duality concept, and provides optimised sensitivity and dynamic range. Testing results on a VTSD board show a minimum detectable photocurrent of 30 fA and a self-adaptable dynamic range of 180 dB.
