Resistance of prickly ash varieties to leaf rust,Coleosporium zanthoxyli,in Shaanxi Province

The investigation of leaf rust,Coleosporium zanthoxyli of prickly ash involving six varieties in Baoji,Hancheng,Fengxian and Fuping areas of Shaanxi Province showed that the resistance order of prickly ash varieties was: Mi-jiaoYou-jiaoDa-hong-paoDou-jiao,and the wild prickly ash varieties was more resistant than cultured prickly ash varieties.Development of the leaf rust was negatively related to the temperature between August and October,and positively related to the rainfall of autumn.
