AIDS: UMA VIS√O GERAL E SUA IMPORT¬NCIA NO CONTEXTO SOCIAL, ECON'MICO E PSICOL"GICO AIDS: AN OVERVIEW AND ITS IMPORTANCE IN THE SOCIAL, ECONOMIC AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CONTEXT

This paper of bibliographic review aimed to analyze the su m- maries of scientific papers about HIV and its consequent di s- ease, AIDS (SIDA), attempting to show inside of a complex social context, a human view related to its holders. There has been analyzed scientific papers and information found on we b- sites related to these studies that embrace a biopsychosocial view of the disease and its infection, as well as some aspects as sex, age, social class, ethnicity and other important factors for the societys comprehension and sensitization related to this important epidemic. In this study, there will be found aspects as an introduction about t he HIV virus, its ways of contagion and development, as well as the main social and epidemiological perspectives about this virus. This data will be presented through charts and analysis of the collected data.
