Modeling the Beam Fields of Circular and Rectangular, Flat and Focused Transducers Using Gaussian Beam Superposition

2006
Gaussian beam superposition is applied to model a variety of standard transducer types. Previously published approaches available in the literature have been applied and modified to account for rectangular and non‐planar transducer apertures. Beam field calculation for both single and layered media is addressed. Numerical evaluation results are presented in view of practical inspection applications.
