Methods of investigation estimation of temperatures corresponding to decomposition of specific physical cross-links in polar elastomers☆

Abstract A method is proposed for the estimation of the decomposition temperature T d of specific intermolecular bonds existing in polar elastomers from the bends observed on the temperature dependence of polymer swelling. The decomposition temperatures in polar elastomers depend on the polymer nature, but are independent of the character of the swelling agent and also of the degree of crosslinking.
