ABSTRACT This paper describes spectra of quasar candidates acquired during the commissioning phase of the Low‐Resolution Spectrograph of the Hobby‐Eberly Telescope. The objects were identified as possible quasars from multicolor image data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.
