Effects of Reserpine on Calcium Levels in Cardiac Tissue of Mice

In four stocks (TS, DBA, RF, and C) of mice the calcium contents of atrium and ventricle were measured. After seven daily injections of 0·1 mg/kg reserpine the amounts of calcium were reduced in both heart chambers of all four stocks. Reserpine exerted its most depleting action on the stocks (DBA and TS) which had the highest control levels of calcium.
