Effect of commutation failures in a GIGRE model for HVDC link connected to AC network

The performance of an HVDC link is significantly affected by the strength of the AC network to which it is connected. The interactions between a AC system and a DC link and the associated problems depend to the strength of the CA system. This paper explores the effect of the control system on reestablishing the operation of a CIGRE benchmark model of HVDC link after commutation failures at the inverter, which is connected to a AC network. Single-phase and three-phase AC side faults are simulated using MATLAB / Simulink software.
