[Wilson's disease].

2010
Wilson's disease is a rare recessively inherited degenerative disease that causes free copper poisoning. Treatment of copper toxicosis in Wilson's disease has evolved from risky chelating therapy to low risk zinc therapy, in accordance with the rules of evidence-based medicine. Zinc therapy aiming at lowering the level of plasma free copper is currently the best choice for treatment of copper poisoning.
