Development of Backward Bent Duct Buoy (BBDB)

1999
Backward Bent Duct Buoy (BBDB) was developed by corporation of Japan, India, China. It is characterized by how air chamber duct, which is bent to backward below float, to open to the stern. BBDB has a high conversion efficiency and low mooring force and easy to construct, Power can be generated by BBDB than any kind wave power device including floating type and shore fixed type. Wells turbine test in India experienced very low efficiency by stall characteristic, and so Setoguchi turbine, or impulse turbine with four valves is adopted, it recovers turbine efficiency. Wound type Induction generator with capacitor control (Hellers Generator) is used to connect to Grid Line.
