A New Approach to College English Pronunciation Teaching

Pronunciation is one piece of the whole communicative competence.However,it is,for a long time,unduly neglected or ignored in college English teaching in China.With a survey,this paper analyzes how non-English majors learn pronunciation and finds out that the limited class hours is far less than enough for students' need.A new approach is therefore put forward that pronunciation teaching should be extended into after-class autonomous learning,in which establishing feedback is essential.Making use of new technology and various feedback,students will have more quality output practice to make up for the deficient class work.
