Estratégia de saúde da família: Problemas com a saúde da mãe e do bebê causados pelo não cumprimento do esquema vacinal

In general the most reliable way to improve public health is vaccination. But her inaction has been marking high growth rates around the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) has listed denial of the vaccine as one of ten global health threats. The objective of this study was to verify the knowledge of puerperal women about the importance of vaccination during pregnancy and throughout the child's life. This is a cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive study with a quantitative approach, conducted at the Freedom Family Health Unit, located in the municipality of Tracunhaem located in the North Forest of Pernambuco. The sample consisted of 80 puerperum women who had prenatal care at the unit, who wanted to participate in the research, and data collection was performed from September to October 2020. It was observed in the data that most of the research participants knew the relevance of vaccination for the prevention of diseases in their children, however 43.7% stated that they did not know the benefits, but that they knew the importance of immunization for children and during pregnancy. Regarding the data discussed, it was observed that there is a great projection of continuity in the vaccination schedule of children, according to the report of the puerperal women. Taking into account also, information about possible preventable injuries through vaccination, and also irreversible problems caused by the lack of immunization during the pregnancy period and its continuity during the life of the mother and child.
