O ESQUECIMENTO DA ANÁLISE INSTITUCIONAL E A GUINADA CULTURAL DA SOCIOLOGIA BRASILEIRA (1980-2002): FRONTEIRAS ENTRE A SOCIOLOGIA, ANTROPOLOGIA E

Analysis on the reasons and the historical moment in which Brazilian Sociology has put the institutional analysis aside. It identifies the methodological-theoretical changes which have enabled the cultural upturn of Sociology in the past decades as well as its approaching to Social Psychology and Anthropology. It approaches the relations among the New Theoretical Movement and the transformations on the sociological theory. It investigates the socio-cultural transformations and the spread of cultural studies in Latin America. It discusses the process of formation and development of Sociology in Brazil by emphasizing the Culturalist tradition within the Brazilian social thinking. It relates some recent changes in the Brazilian political-cultural context, and their influences for the current "forgetting of the institutional analysis" with respect to the national sociological production.
