Optimal planning of substation locating based on improved PSO algorithm

Substation locating planning plays an important role in electric power network planning.A mathematical model of substation locating is proposed that contains not only early quantization factors,but also penalty factor like geography information for adding actual value.A new improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is presented in initial solution and search variable to handle optimal substation locating.Actual examples show that the new algorithms and the mathematical model are accurate and effective,and the planning result is scientific and feasible.
